| Ted Patterson Ted Patterson is a highly regarded radio and TV personality who has established a reputation for quality insights and reporting in the arena of broadcasting, play-by-play, and interviewing. Additionally, he is the author of five books, which chronicle the history and magic of Baltimore Orioles baseball, Baltimore football and the Golden Voices of Baseball and Football.
For the past seven years, Ted has worked as the Sports Director at Talk Radio 680 WCBM, where he broadcasts six morning drive sportscasts on Sean and Frank. Ted also writes, produces and records the Orioles and Ravens reports, which feature many prominent players and coaches. Ted hosted a one-hour sports talk show on WCBM for several years as well. TP is also a Ravens game day reporter for ESPN Radio.
For 14 years, Ted was also the voice of Navy Football. Other play-by-play assignments included Orioles Baseball on Super-TV, Navy and Towson Basketball and Baltimore Blast soccer.
Ted also gained national exposure during the 1992 and 1998 Olympic games as a sports anchor on the Associated Press Network. Ted is a three-time winner of the Maryland Sportscaster of the Year award, a six-time winner of the Chesapeake AP Sportscaster of the Year honor. In 1979 he won the prestigious Eclipse Award presented by the thoroughbred racing industry.
Prior to settling in Baltimore, Ted launched his broadcast
Career on radio and television in his native Ohio. He was the voice of the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA franchise as well as the Cleveland Crusaders of the WHA.In addition, Ted served as the Producer and Writer of “Curt Gowdy’s Inside Sports” when it aired on the NBC radio network, and worked for two years at Armed Forces Radio Sports from 1968-1970.
